i have 2 AP working in a range of 300 meters.
the users are connecting to one AP and the other is a standby just in case the first fails…
both have same SSID and are hard wired (CAT5) to the main network switch.
the transfer of the clients between the 2 works successfully when one of the AP goes down or stops responding.
now i want to divide the clients between the 2 AP with some criteria. how can i achieve something like that??
It’s the client that chooses the ap so if you are talking about control from the ap then the best option may be setting a minimum signal level like -85
setting signal level where?
i don’t know any parameter setting to get that kind of thing working.

You set it on the AP in /wireless. Theres an access list and a connection list - connect list is for other APS, Access List for client devices and you can limit signal there.
