Hi everyone,
is there an option “default domain” in mikrotik dns server ?
the purpose is to resolve our “machine1” without its FQDN (“machine1.mydomain.lan”)

RouterOS do not have any DNS server, have only a DNS proxy with some "Static/RegEx" addon.
Yeah no "domain" unless you add a FQDN as a static record. MikroTik DNS will create the in-addr.arpa reverse DNS records based on the static records – so those should be without FQDN automatically (unless you add DNS records explictly with FQDN).
Now...DHCP server may be provide clients a domain, which how you might see FQDNs on client.
