Hello,
I bought a RB951G-2HnD an set it up. Everthing works fine, but I have some problems with the static DNS…
servers: 8.8.8.8
dynamic-servers:
allow-remote-requests: yes
max-udp-packet-size: 4096
query-server-timeout: 2s
query-total-timeout: 10s
cache-size: 2048KiB
cache-max-ttl: 1w
cache-used: 126KiB
for the moment only one static entrie…
static entrie: srvhome (for my local nas)
With this settings I can get the NAS only via android from the phone not with windows 7
I dont now why. Where is the mistake?
If you expect Windows to access a domain name, it must be a FQDN. Like nas.srvhome.com. Just srvhome won’t do it.
thx… ok i have to setup a domain suffix to dhcp settings!?
for exaple “home.lan”
and in Win 7 the same primary DNS Suffix “home.lan”?
Whats with the static entrie? Its ok with “srvhome” or I have to enter the FQDN “srvhome.home.lan”?
And whats with the Android clients? There is no possibility to enter a primary DNS Suffix?
I think my head wont understand…
You can use just srvhome.com.
srvhome.lan caused a challenge with my web browser. It worked, but after it prompted me if I wanted to load that page or search for that subject.
