Is something like this even possible? I don’t know what’s the technical term to this, as I can’t find any information for DNS Rewrite function on anything else other than Adguard.
You can use Container function to run Adguard in RouterOS and do it in the same device.
RouterOS does not have any advanced DNS functionality at the moment.
@Znevna I have a 512 gig SSD I was going to play with but thought it was overkill for my immediate needs. Have confirmed that the 5009 recognizes it and all.
@anav the thumb drive, or SSD, is so that you are not increasing the writes to the internal memory of the device which will shorten its lifespan. I bought very low profile thumbs drives so that they don’t accidentally get bumped or broken etc. You can barely tell it’s there at all.
Thanks Sir, not even sure I can attach an SSD to my RB450G LOL.or a USB so I am SOL… (the only arm device I have, well until I get my hapax3 hopefully soon. I had to buy one after I realized Normis wasnt going to send me one for a xmas present.
Is my microSD card slot in the RB450G an ygood for container use??
@anav that’s a great question. Not something I’ve ever tried myself as my device has the usb port. In principle I would think the SD card would work but there could be some sort of limitation that I don’t know of. If you insert a card and the go to System → disk does the SD show up ? If so, how?
