Dns update issues over pptp tunnel

i have 2 mikrotiks connect over a pptp tunnel with static routes, everything is working flawless

when i add the dns server of the main mikrotik to the remote router, it works for several minutes and the entry’s get put into cache

after a while though if there is no entry, it doesn’t appear to try to look it up on the dns server

also if i flush the dns cache, it completely stops working, the only way to get it to work again is to delete the dns server entry

and re add it, then everything is peachy for a couple minutes

both are running 5.25

i get an unknown in the dns cache


if i flush it several times in a row, sometimes it will start working again?

it seems now though, if i put the main site in the dns server list ahead of the local dns server. it works flawless, but its also not going through the dns cache on the local router?

is this a bug somewhere i am not aware of?
