I’ve set up a hotspot using User Manager and Mikrotik APs. All seems to work. I have a few local servers that I’ve added to the walled garden. I can successfully access them when not logged into the hotspot. When logged in, however, any data that goes to/from the local servers is counted against the users hotspot profiles. I would like this data to be “free” (not counted against the user’s data limits. Is there an easy way to do this with a few carefully placed firewall rules? If so, how?
Walled Garden’s are for users that are not logged in. They allow “guests” to access those sites without a hotspot user account. Once they log in, everything is under their profile.
I do understand what walled garden is for. Any suggestions regarding how to accomplish what I want to do would be appreciated. I want to charge only for traffic to/from the internet, not for local LAN traffic, even after the user logs in. Is there a way for me to accomplish this?
