Does CCR2004-16G-2S+ support SFP 2.5Gbps?

v 7.12.2
Trying to do some testing, I’ve got some SFP 2.5GB modules that have been tested in other MT routers at 2.5Gbps, but plugged into a CCR2004-16G-2S+ I get the option to set the SFP port to 2.5G baseX or 2.5G baseT, but the link does not come up. It can see the device EEPROM info on the SFP tab (which BTW, how do you access that info via command line??), but I cannot get a link.

Digging into the documentation it simply says SFP+ 10G without any details on individual data rates it supports, which I thought (maybe incorrectly?) that meant it supported most anything between 1G and 10G as well, including 2.5G? It seems this should work as it’s a SFP+ port and Winbox does give me the option of setting a 2.5G link, yet it isn’t.

Hi

The following has the list of devices with assorted compatibilities, including 2.5G

https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/MikroTik+wired+interface+compatibility

It doesn’t (currently) list the CCR2004-16G-2S+ as being compatible with 2.5G, but does have a different CCR2004 device listed.

They seem to be updating/improving the 2.5G compatibility of their routers, you could perhaps ask support about your device, and with luck a new RouterOS may have an update that makes it compatible.

Bump on this if anyone has actually tried it? The official page only lists the other CCR2004 model but not the 16G variant

I have CCR2004 16G 2S+ with RJ10 and it works at 2.5 automode.

For cases where 2.5Gbps doesn’t work with auto negotiation, you can try the settings described here: https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/spaces/ROS/pages/220233794/MikroTik+wired+interface+compatibility#MikroTikwiredinterfacecompatibility-SFP+/SFP28interfacecompatibilitywith2.5Gtransceivers
