Does leaving Winbox open causes user connectivity issues?

I’m just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue. Two times in the last month, we’ve had users call and say they couldn’t connect to the internet or that it was very slow. All clients connect to the internet using the proxy server on the MikroTik router.

Both times I noticed I had the WinBox application up and running on my machine, and it had been running for some time. All connections seemed to be fine as I could ping everything from the router itself. Both times the internet returned to normal within minutes of closing WinBox.


Is this a known issue, that Winbox needs to be closed when not in use?

if you leave certain winbox windows open, it can cause increased CPU usage. So better don’t leave it open. Use Webfig instead, it doesn’t cause any CPU load.
