i have a routerboard 433 with two r52 cards. The problem is that ì used to have two 400mw senaos and now i have to use two 100mw cards. The senao 8610 have a mini pci card that i can put into the mikrotik but wil it work and does mikrotik support senoa? the card is a 8610 card. if the card is not supported then i wil have to put the senao back and remove the mikrotik’s
Just try it by experiment. If the chipset it Atheros or Prism II it may work. Don’t forget to tell us what happend. If it’s too risky or hard work to put the card in and try, search on the net what’s the chipset of the senao card or look ontop of it if you can see the chip… if you are not scared to remove the metal cover without damaging it.
The card is a nmp 8602. I put in in the slot and powered on the device. It booted up but when i accessed it with winbox it said that the card is a atheros5413. The card is in disbled mode but everytime i tried to enable it then the device will shut off and i will have to remove the power and ethernet for 10 seconds before the device can power on again. Maybe i should return the r52 cards and get the r52h cards. They have 350mw power. Almost as strong as the senao’s
If the card is recognized as Atheros then it should work, based on my experience.
The RouterBoard failing on wlan1 enabling could be due to not enough power, and god knows what else. Refer to ALL RouterBoard failure related topics to get an idea. If you do not want to waste time reading the forums, you can just get R52H.
I now remember that according to Normis for example, when a customer has RouterBoard problems he should speak directly with the seller company because they should provide support and they should be aware of all solutions.
why is this relevant here?
Because he is trying a senao card in a RouterBoard and the RB shuts off. Or am I missing something?
if somebody tries to install a bread toster in a routerboard, when it doesn’t work - is that also RB problem
?
I don’t know why it locks up, maybe a bad card, or maybe some interesting software problem. you should take the card out, turn the device back on, and make a supout.rif file maybe (after the crash reboot)
The card seems to work in my rb433 but not the rb411, the routerboard version is 3.15
try to upgrade your bootloader to latest version (2.19) and the RouterOS to v3.19. Sometimes bootloader upgrades can fix this kind of issue.
- FTP new RouterOS package to router
- reboot
- If upgrade successful type “/system routerboard upgrade”
i downloaded router os 3.19. Where do i download the bootloader? When i rebooted the system and run system routerboard/prnt it showed me that i have the upgradem version will be 3.18. But i downloaded version 3.19??? Now i have version 3.18 om my rb433.Where can i download the latest bootloader and what must i type to upgrade it. Thanx
“/system routerboard print” shows the version of the Bootloader available. It’s NOT the same as RouterOS version. Just type “/system routerboard upgrade” and it will be done
it says current firmware is 3.18 and the upgrade version is 3.18. When i run system routerboard/upgrade then it stays the same
are you sure it’s not 2.18? if it is, then sorry, can’t help. find another wireless card
when i login with telnet then it says routeros 3.19, but when i type system routerboard/print it says i have firmware 3.18. Do you know what it can be
that is not possible ![]()
you should see this:
[normis@demo.mt.lv] /system routerboard> print
routerboard: yes
model: "433"
serial-number: "185C01FCA958"
current-firmware: "2.18"
upgrade-firmware: "2.19"
[normis@demo.mt.lv] /system routerboard>
but i only see 2.18 for the current and 2.18 for the pgrade. Can you maybe give a a direct link to te file a need for upgrade. Maybe i am choosing the incorrect file(s). ![]()
what i get is…

MikroTik RouterOS 3.19 (c) 1999-2009 http://www.mikrotik.com/
[admin@MikroTik] > system routerboard
[admin@MikroTik] /system routerboard> print
routerboard: yes
model: “433”
serial-number: “1A7501EBAD68”
current-firmware: “2.18”
upgrade-firmware: “2.18”
[admin@MikroTik] /system routerboard>
in that case all is upgraded, and on the latest version. please find another wireless card then.
i installed the 3.19 on my 411 and it shows the same. Im busy download the torrent version of the routeros 3.19. Maybe that will help.
