Not always, but in this case yes.
Dual polarized means that the antenna has two polarizations in one (vertical and horizontal) and can be connected the same way as two separate antennas. Dual pol antennas have two connectors, and they are mostly used in MIMO devices.

OmniTIK makes a great AP for the SXT, which is also 2x2 MIMO (dual polarized, dual chain).
