As tittle says.
I encode a LOT of problems with their (5 of them) Giga Ethernet connections.
Details:
I have a MiMo config with 4 of them.
ROS 5.24.
Nv2
5GHz-only-N.
A goes wireless to B.
B is connected through C with a Giga switcher.
C goes wireless to D.
ALL of them are manually “locked” at 180/180Mbps and ALL have 100% CCQ Tx/Rx.
Now
Bandwidth test from D to A, shows 18.5Mbps TCP with 20 ports and COPY a file from D to A, reaches ~5.5MB/s.
Bandwidth test from A to D, shows 9.5Mbps TCP with 20 ports and COPY a file from A to D, reaches ~2.5MB/s.
PING for A to D and from D to A, FLACTUATES a LOT from 1ms , 32ms, 4ms, 16ms, etc.
ALL connected at 1 Gbit.
Now.
I MANUALY “downgrade” the RB435Gs Ethernet speed at 100Mbps by UNCHECKING the “Auto Negotiation” and…NOT EVEN the winbox program can “see” them, NOT to say about the computers that they are connected on. ![]()
I then “MANUALY downgrade” the Ethernet on BOTH end computers at 100Mbps full duplex AND put “MANUALY fixed LAN cables” with "wrong made cables - blue/white and green/white putted OPPOSITE - , from B to switcher and from switcher to C and they Auto Negotiate and lock at 100Mbps full duplex and I got the following results:
Bandwidth test from D to A, shows ~64Mbps TCP with 20 ports and COPY a file from D to A reaches ~11.5MB/s (the MAX the 100Mbps the Ethernet can do).
Bandwidth test from A to D, shows ~64Mbps TCP with 20 ports and COPY a file from A to D reaches ~11.5MB/s (the MAX the 100Mbps the Ethernet can do).
PING for A to D and from D to A, stays ALWAYS at 1ms and once in a while 16ms (I don’t care).
I HAD to leave the RB435Gs on “Auto Negotiation” config and NOT touch/change it and I HAD to put ALL other config (computers/cables) at 100Mb, to work properly.
IF I touched EVEN ONE RB435G and UNCHECKED the “Auto Negotiation” config to work it with 100Mb, I was f(l)ucked!! ![]()
SO PLEASE tell me: DOES the Gigabit Ethernet on RB435G REALLY WORKS OR I have “through away my money” instead of buying something cheaper with 100Mbps Ethernet (which apparently with the RB411AH and their 100Mb, I didn’t encode such problems)?
