Hi,
year ago we used to have a W2008 server, Microtik (RB 751G-2HnD). As we moved all our web services to an external cloud, all company data to a NAS server… the Windows server (already pretty old) we now use only as a domain coltroller and Active direktory service.
(To avoid wrong answers, we have a company network with data on our NAS, and all webservices are out of our house at the moment)
So finally my question… can our Microtik také care of domain and Active Directory? So we can send our old server to the sillicon heaven? ![]()
Thanks for answers,
Jan
The only way to accomplish that would be to run a metarouter image on your Mikrotik using something like DD-WRT, but I wouldn’t recommend that. Neither Mikrotik nor the DD-WRT people work on keeping these things compatible with each other and up to date. So that is to say: Nope - Mikrotik’s not an office-in-a-box solution at that level.
