Dont try to solve the wrong problems!

IMHO…The suspect equipment being lambasted by ‘you know who you are’, are simply trying to vent their frustrations that it is disappointing when naturally pressing the ubiquitious layer2 discovery button ‘…’, and expectedly finding the RB250GS, with IP, etc…but dont get the obvious interface we all would expect.

This isnt a problem of ASICs, Switch Chips, Operating System, or User Interface and programming of it–per se…

This device and/or class of devices breaks the Mikrotik Paradigm [MTP]…

Thats what I feel, and Im stickin to it. We just like the MTP… :sunglasses:

I completely agree, and I rarely use the “…”.

But…I do think the choice of the Taifatech device is what killed the MTP. It simply doesn’t have the programming capabilities to easily provide a “…”. Nor does MT want to write and support it.

However, it goes further than that. Not only is there no “…”, which I can live without, there is no console interface (more or less an industry standard for managed switches) and the configs are not in a “simple to edit” format.

Is this some evil plot to force cli masters to revert to a clunky web interface?
I always laughed at guys who config switches using a web interface.
It is so much easier/faster for me to use cli.
