Hi all,
I’m doing the QoS on my network.
To do this I’m marking the packets in mangle section of the firewall, then I’m using the Queue tree to change the priority of the packects.
Today I’m marking just the destination packets to the udp/tcp ports, I’m noting marking the incoming ports (from the ports that I want to priorizy).
Is it necessary to mark de traffic from the ports or can I just mark the destination traffic that I’ll have a good result?

depends on where the bottle necks are and wether their limits are artificial in nature.
In what i believe to be your case you will not see significant gain by artificially prioritize the return traffic. That is best left for the opposite side of that link.
Hello sten,
Firstlly thanks for your help.
I’m a Internet Provider and I want to priorize some traffics like dns, voip, games, msn, https, http, email, others and p2p, in this order.
I’m priorizing the traffic and change the TOS of some connections, link dns, voip, games and msn to make this connections more stable.
DO you think that I need to make the qos of the return traffic?
This QoS will help me or not?
Thanks again,
Fabrício
