I had a router board lock up in my back haul last night. I have ordered a synaccess remote power switch so I can reboot in the future as a precaution.
Is there a feature built into the router os that can send an email or sms alert if a ping/probe fails.
I might also setup a watchdog on the network capable of this. I figure if I do this from several of the ‘right’ points I’ll get alerted to outages via email more than customers calling in.
How are some of you alerting yourselves to critical down radios?
