Downgrade from 2.8.8 to 2.7.20 ?

Due to the fact that the boards with AR5210 chipset do not work with MT v2.8.X, I need to downgrade three boards I’ve recently bought (RouterBoard 230 and MT v2.8.8 in a 64 MB CF)

Is it possible to downgrade from v2.8.8 to v2.7.20?

Is there anything special to take into consideration?

Is there a CF image of version 2.7.20 available somewhere?

Greetings,

Pablo.

You can upload the 2.7.20 packages to the router and use the downgrade function. I have done it two times so far, and both times it worked flawlessly. You should erase your config, though (/system reset), as older version probably won’t support features from newer versions.

As per the 2.7.20 CF image - you could ask YazzY, who just has outed himself as RouterOS version collector (which I do, too, but not CF images…). I’m not sure, if 2.7.x was available as CF image, though (I seem to remember they weren’t?!).

The v2.8.x should work fine with AR5210. I know that there are a number of users that have 5210 radios and they are using v2.8.x. I suggest that:

  1. use the current version 2.8.10
  2. send a supout file to support@mikrotik.com
