Downgrade hAP AX3 from 7.13 to 7.12.1 fail

Hi everyone,

Need some assistance been trying to downgrade my FW to 7.12.1 without any success. The system rebooted every time I run downgrade with files but the FW remained without downgrade. Does anyone experience the same thing?

Check the log for errors.
Did you use the downgrade command? Simple reboot can’t downgrade.

I used the command and from winbox.. both ending no downgrade. I also provide all the 1 modules. No luck either. Any idea where I can see the logs?

There is no going back. You cannot change the past, look forward!
More to the point, what is the reason for going back from 7.13 to 7.12.1
You should consider going to 7.13.1 instead.

Because there is functionality in older versions that is not in 7.13.
When using many access-points managed by Capsman while using Capsman forwarding it is not possible to go to 7.13.
It is simply not acceptable to change all access-points to local forwarding.

Alas, downgrading does not work for me either. I tried the same way as the topic starter.
Any thoughts on how to downgrade?

For the topic starter and anybody that has this problem.
The solution is to uninstall packages that are not in the older version.
For me it was wifi-qcom, this package is new and does not exist in 7.12.x
After uninstalling this package the downgrade worked.
Then you need to install the 7.12.x package that has the drivers for your wlan interfaces (wifiwave2).

I will stick with 7.12.2 for production while I will buy a few hAP AX2 for testing in the lab untill I am satisfied with the new way of configuring wifi/capsman in 7.13.x and until all functionality that I use at my customers is there.

Toms (Mikrotik) has a very good video on Youtube with the explanation on the WiFi packages and the new Capsman version.

Small comment here:
Since 7.13 basic wave2 behavior is available in the main ROS package instead of legacy wireless drivers (makes sense, AX/wave2 is the way forward).
If you use legacy APs, you need to use wireless package and then capsman forwarding is STILL available like it was in the past.
