Downgrade RB2011UiAS-2HnD

Hi Support,

I bought RB2011UiAS-2HnD and OS version was 6.43.16.
I have installed mikortik app from google play store and there was a notification to upgrade OS to 6.45.2. accidentally, I clicked this update and now I’m having problem with API authentication (wrong user name and password) with mikrotik.

Is there a way that I can undo this upgrade from mikoritk itself without affecting current users.. i.e. downgrade to the same old version again via terminal or any other way.

I really appreciate your swift response.

Thank you

Yes, you can download packages for older version, upload them to router and then click Downgrade in System->Packages. But better long-term solution is to fix/upgrade your API client (there were some authentication changes recently), if you don’t want to stay with old RouterOS forever.

Thanks Sob for your reply..

I did download the 6.43.16 packages for mipsbe product but I still have many inquires:

  1. To downgrade without side affects, Is it possible only to downgrade the responsible package for API integration.
  2. which is that package which is responsible on authentication changes?
  3. can other packages remain in newer version 6.45.2?

Note: the client app I have is from 3rd party and I can’t change its code.

Thanks for your support in advance

  1. no
  2. no
  3. no

You can downgrade everything. The best solution is to improve your API program and fix the password problem.

Thanks guys,

I follow your recommendations and fix the issue from the client side. The new upgrade is really awesome that’s why I kept it.
