I am having a very hard time downgrading from beta to stable. The beta is giving me 100% CPU spikes on my RB112 so I wish to downgrade. I uploaded the 2.9.40 package and rebooted then tried system package downgrade as well as using the winbox package downgrade functions with no success.
After multiple tries, I decided to give netinstall 2.9.40 a go, and it detected the device and installed, yet after a reboot it STILL shows up as 3.0beta5! What must I do to downgrade?
Try upgrading to Beta6. Downgrade from Beta6 to 2.9.40 works fine.
If it does not help, you can format NAND and then netinstall 2.9
I’ve been playing with netinstall and noticed it seems to “install” very quickly, is this normal? It says “Sending offer…” and the routerboard shows as ‘Installing’ then after 4-5 seconds it goes back to ‘Ready’. This seems unusually quick to me, so perhaps netinstall isn’t working.
Trying 3.0beta6 now.
EDIT: 3.0beta6 caused 100% CPU constantly, it took forever but uploading the 2.9.40 package and using downgrade worked. Netinstall still wouldn’t get past “Sending offer”. At least it’s back to stability now! Thanks for the advice.
