DSL Fail over

Hi All,

I am well aware of the unfortunate fact that MikroTik does not have DSL support.

We currently use MikroTik quite widely as a CPE, however with our high profile customers we are using Cisco 2800 series routers so we can have auto fail over from an Ethernet link to DSL. Now we have a large number of mid range customers that cannot afford to fork out for a Cisco router but would like DSL fail over. MikroTik is the obvious answer however it is a little messy / tacky having some cheapo DSL modem hanging off the MikroTik. Has anyone got a reasonably professional solution for having a MikroTik + DSL modem in bridge mode ?

thanks

MikroTik supports PPPoE which most US-based providers utilize. You can turn a DSL modem into bridge mode, and thus terminate the PPPoE session directly on the MikroTik making it ‘support’ DSL. If your DSL provider uses PPPoA, you’re out of luck.
