Hello, i have a DSL connection with a modem in bridge mode and a Mikrotik which makes the PPPoE connection and shares the internet. I would like to know if there is a way to get DSL statistics through the Mikrotik device, like dsl mode, noise margin, attenuation, speed etc.
You need to get the statistics from the DSL bridge using SNMP or some other method. I’ve tried using a TP-Link TD-8817, but it doesn’t appear to have useful information like that available by SNMP.
How can i do that ?
I don’t have any valid ip of the modem at the time i have enabled the bridge mode. So i don’t have any communication to this device.
I enable dhcp-client on the Ethernet interface that the bridge is on but don’t get dns or default route from it. Or you can set an IP manually. I hope MT will make a DSL SFP module one day, it’s a pain having an external bridge.
