It will be awesome if Mikrotik can repair dual-nstrem. Imagine dual-nstreme link with two 802.11ac separate links and FDX throughput more than 600Mbps full-duplex!!!
Remember: on some country (all receiving CEPT regulamentation) is forbidden use 80MHz modulation [exactly more than 20+20], or better is forbidden at all use 5GHz for PTP
Do not expect verly long range link…
I suggest max 16Km, on 23,5 Km I’m forced to use pure 5GHz… ehm…
For long distance link you need 2mt dish, with pure 17GHz device…
I also have one LigoWave Unity 5 PTP (ok, is another brand, but against mikrotik is one un-competitor…) but is used on parallel of the previous described link of 23,5Km as backup.
Same J&L 30dBi H/V dish, but RB411AH + SR71-15 (6.15 wireless-fp tdma auto on NV2, 20 Ce) have better and stable performance. I force it to stay linked at max to 180Mbps/radio and the only limit are the 100M ethernet… (latency average 4ms, min 2ms, max 6ms on 70Mbps to clients / 30Mbps from clients during real data passing on the link)
You have to connect ROS-Devices on both ends then you have the combination of ROS features and Radiofeatures. You cant do everything with one platform. High speed low latency backhaul is where you run into limitations with wifi solutions. You can tune cheap wifi-Radios to an extent but there are limits. This conversion stuff is quite experimental. You might run into 5GHz selfinterference with your 17GHz link.
MT trainer told me to stay away from up/down converters
Yes. Stay away. If you want to use 17GHz use native 17GHz Equipment. We move everything out of 5GHz where possible.
With .ac the band will be crowded so the problems with (self)interference will rise.
rextended the 17 Ghz hyperlan sicetelecom solution allows to access into routerboard from winbox or only with a partial way by a web interface?
I do not know why you think if can be limited…
Is all the same, inside you do not have any hint about if is working on 17 or 5 GHz.
Have you tried the cpe version or the backhaul version?
For do one ptp simply buy 2 CPE version…
Have you got to try it with a distance of 16 km during a heavy rain? The link is interrupted?
I do not have one bridge with that distance, SICE staff suggest me to do not use over that distance,
On near 8Km is never interrupted by rain. I do not know if have any problem with snow or heavy fog,
because on my zone is really rare that…

Ok my question was if the sice allows a user with full access permission, or if the kit comes with simplified web management and, so, limited management.

Sure but the cpe version seems to be limited to 30Mbits full duplex while the backhaul version to 85mbits.
This looks like an interesting product to be tested, thanks for your info.
I not talk about price, because we have one arrangment with SICE…
Is the principal source for MikroTik hardware for us.
is that able to get 100Mbit/s traffic in crowded enviroment
i do not know that because on “my” zone there do not are other WISP using that frequencies.
