Dual WAN Load Balancing with Fail-over

Hi,

I would like to set a Dual WAN Load Balancing with Fail-over with 1 LAN.
As I know very little abouy MikroTik (new here really), I am using the https://mikrotikwizard.com wizard in order to get the setting right.
The wizard is asking to choose from the following options:
ISP2 like backup
Load balancing 1:1
Load balancing 2:1
Load balancing 3:1Could someone please tell me what is the different between Load balancing 1:1 and Load balancing 2:1

Thank you

Hi

I’m guessing this has to do with the load factor on each WAN connection. If these are not equal in bandwidth, they should be loaded accordingly.

Hi,

WAN1 is 50Mb
WAN2 is 15MB

So not the same bandwith..
So which option should I be using?

Sorry I am not network engineer. I am setting up our small office network wich consist of 5 desktop and 2 server

3:1 is close enough i think

Hi,

Would you mind explaining me a little what these ratio does?

The connections across the router alternate respectively three connections through the first wan and one connection through the second !

Thank you

If you want to make Load-Balancing with 2 ISPs configure this:
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:PCC

ps. This also work as Fail-over.
