Hey is there a way to tell a mikrotik that is set up with dual wan inputs to ping another ip address other then the wan gateway..
Problem I have is the wan gateway is a dsl router onsite at this location so as long as the dsl router is up the mikrotik thinks all is good when it really is not..
I want to ping the ISP Gateway on the WAN of the dsl router instead
I need to be able to put in an IP different than the gateway like the ip address of the next router up the chain on the ISP side..
1.) Use netwatch and write a script there to disable and enable a route upon an up and down.
2.) Use the script-less method outlined in a wiki article.
3.) Disable the check gateway feature and write your own script to do what you want.
they need to just integrate a drop down menu in winbox, this is a simple feature that most other platforms/distros support through GUI. And would be a wonderfully easy feature to use, as opposed to the complicated solution mentioned above.
