dualcore routerboard ?

Hi,
maybe I leave a same question as somebody before me
Will routerboard sometime go for multiple cpu ? For example 2x Atheros 680MHz on one RB433AH ? Or even more ?

You really need a Multicore CPU or processor designed for SMP architecture.

The Atheros CPUs don’t fit that model.

RouterBoard with MPC8572E at 1.5Ghz, 8 full-speed SFP’s, 2 copper gigabit ports, and 2x USB ports would be brilliant, hint hint

Copper SFP modules are dirt cheap now days, so you would only need one model, just space the ports enough so aall 8 SFP’s could be filled with 1000baseT SFP’s and Mikrotik would be on to a winner.

a) SFP is also one of my “dreams” exactly as you wrote, more power, 8x SFP
b) Then RB450G with 8x copper gigabit ports, small size enough power (maybe two processors also)
c) and finally RB433AH with two processors
