dude 2.0 beta1 cannot login

I installed dude2.0 b1 on top of dude 1.1 and I am unable to login.
I restore dude 1.1 and after teh normal pause it comes up fine.
I have been running dude since beta 6.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Aaron

dude 2.0beta1 takes longer time after login to show something especially when
logging in from remote site, this is known issue, we will do something about it

I tried waiting about 2 min+
It just gives me a login error on the bottom
Any ideas?

The same problem…

Can you confirm that you are getting this with fresh config (Enabled checkbox ‘Reset Configuration’ at installation time)?

Can you confirm that you are getting this with fresh config (Enabled checkbox ‘Reset Configuration’ at installation time)?

I noticed that just installing DUDE over a old version, may happen to get things messed, including user accounting.

I do the following every time:

1- Install new release with that “Reset Config” at installation time;
2- Import a previously DUDE backup.

Everything seems working well as before. BUT Im geting a bad problem myself when trying to upgrade from v1.1 to 2.0beta1. The network maps I did seems not compatible with this new versions, doing a reset configuration or not. Can you (uldis) confirm if the network maps are completely incompatible from v1.1 to v2.0b1? If that is the tricky, do I need to wait for a new release that correctly import network maps or should I start over a new map manually rewriting all the devices I have once again?  Oh my, Im afraid of the answer…

In general both versions should be compatilble, what problems exactly are you experiencing?

I have a DUDE v1.1 working well. When I try to upgrade to DUDE v2.0b1, selecting “reset config” or not, the DUDE v2.0b1 does not show the map I created on DUDE v1.1

On the map list, there is the map and all the devices. But when I open the network map window (i.e. Open separately) theres no graphics. No links, no static, no labels, nothing. Just a big blank screen.

Yes, probably is a local behavior problem. Cuz I did it already in my home and it worked well (v1.1 to v2.0b1), but the map I created in my home is much more small than the map I have on my work site.

One thing I wanna try soon before my lunch today is to send my work files and try to open them on my home. Thank you. Brb soon with the news…

Just in time: I did another try right now, but completely removing DUDE before install the v2.0b1…

  • When start DUDE v2.0b1, I could see the grid background image with a new Local map.
  • I selected “Import” and then, took the backup file to it.
  • All data has been imported ok and DUDE was monitoring devices well.

But when I do open the network map, there is a big blank screen. Even if I try to add any object, the object seems invisible to me.

Then I did a try at the “copy” button on the “network map settings” window. To see if I could copy the entire map to a new one, including all the devices… No lucky at all. Got the following error:

BUG in dude version 2.0beta1: ASSERT 0 failed in unsigned int nv::Allocator::allocate(unsigned int) at common/alloc.cpp:101

Bad news, I did a try in home and got the same. Seems there is something that DUDE v1.1 do not write in that backup file OR something that DUDE 2.0b1 do not read from that backup file. The fact is that all data is imported well, but only the network map appears as a big blank screen. (I can also do multiple selection by dragging the mouse over the map, which lit on the “minus” button. But I dont see that single line square box, nothing… Like the entire canvas is not drawing. So, seems I cant do an upgrade from v1.1 to 2.0b1 without lost a map and start over a new one. :frowning: At least, not so soon.

Yesterday I installed dude2.0b1 and it did not work
so i installed it again with reset config and imported the 1.1 html file once i got logged in
it would not login after that

I deleted the dude 1.1 folder and installed 2.0b1
and imported the 1.1 html after 2.0b1 logged in.
It lost all the maps.

What information would I keep if I edited the html file to get rid of stuff that would be possible causing problems. I noticed that if I removed any tools and imported it would not replace it with the new default tools.

I guess the answer would be to install Dude 2.0b1 backup the html and import the network info from the 1.1 html –

So what parts do I need to keep to make sure that my maps show up?
Thanks for all the help – Dude is great – Do love the impvement though

everyone that has upgrade problems with the dude, please send export files from dude to support at mikrotik dot com.

Sorry, I am unable to send the files. Btw I did another test. I removed almost all devices under DUDE v1.1 and then, I did the upgrade from v1.1 to v2.0b1.

I finally got the network map open on dude v2.0b1, but with some differences. I think there is lots of differences between my devices, cuz some of them was created on DUDE version rc8, some devices on DUDE version rc9 and finally some devices on DUDE v1.1. Well, I think that all the devices created on DUDE v1.1 can be viewed ok on DUDE v2.0b1, but old devices (maybe devices created on rc8 too) created on rc9 dont show labels correctly. The only thing they show is “(unknown)” on DUDE v2.0b1 and “unknown device” on v1.1. Maybe the problem is coming from DUDE rc8 that is where I started my network map. Any enlightenments?

The same happen on DUDE v2.0b2… ^^

I noticed that is I exported my 1.1 settings
removed the links section and then imported it into 2.0b2 it worked.
But the links are not labeled.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Aaron
