Dude-3.6.npk on a cheapest MikroTik Hardware e.g. RB250GS

I use The DUDE three years on PC. PC costs many power so I will migrate to a MikroTik hardware.

Can I use The DUDE on

  1. MIKROTIK Routerboard RB250GS
  2. MIKROTIK Routerboard RB750GL
  3. MikroTik RouterBOARD 750

or other cheap solution?

Thanks

#2 and #3 you can. Bear in mind that these devices have limited storage space. You will be able to monitor a small network only.

Thanks, I have only 50 PC to control with the dude is this ok with MIKROTIK Routerboard RB750GL?

It depends on how you set your probe intervals and how much historical data you want to keep. I just noticed that 750GL doesn’t have a USB port, so you will quickly run out of disk space.

I suggest you to look for Atom motherboards with integrated CPU if you are power consumption conscious. Such PC’s have a TDP below 20W, http://ark.intel.com/products/family/29035/Intel-Atom-Processor/desktop.

Personally I prefer to run Dude from a SSD drive to render the charts immediately whenever I want them.

Hmmm,… Dell OptiPlex FX160 http://www.dell.com/de/unternehmen/p/optiplex-fx160/pd has a Intel Atom 230 1,6 Ghz, perhaps I will buy this

It looks cool.

Today I bought Dell OptiPlex FX160 by ebay for 60 EUR, I will use Windows 7 32 BIT and Install The DUDE and hMailServer http://www.hmailserver.com/

Here is my new The DUDE Server on OptiPlex FX160 http://anduro.objectis.net/hardware/dell-optiplex-fx160-n
