Dude Client connects only in 1 out of 5 tries

Hi,

I have two dude installations where I have the problem that the Windows client only connects successfully in one out of roughly 5 tries.
If it does not work I can see in the client that the status is stuck at “getting stuff” the rx/tx counters show som traffic initially. Then it
drops to 0/0 with tx showing some bps of traffic occasionally.

One installation that shows this is currently at version 6.47.7 and is an very old installation that has been upgraded over the years.
The dude server is running on ROS x86 directly on the server hardware.

The other installation is a CHR on Proxmox. It is a fresh setup that was installed with ROS 6.47.8. (stable). As a test I downgraded that install
to 6.46.8 (long-term) which did not change the behaviour.

The client runs on different windows installations and the client version fits the server version.
I have one client installation where I have issues to connect to one server installation while having no issues
connecting to one other server installation.

I think the problems started with ROS version 6.47 / 6.46.7.
I checked that the user has the “winbox” permissions as stated in the changelog.

I can see no log messages on the server.

Any hints would be appreceated.

Thank you.
Ekkehard

I experience the same.

I was runnign v6.44.3 and it was working great untill I decided to upgrade to 6.45.x. And now I have the same problem.

Though I am only facing this on the installation where I have around 2000 devices (mind you it is over a x86 based 16-Core server with HT and 6.44.3 was working great). Other installations having around 500 devices are running smoothly.

Same here on 6.48. You have to press connect several times until you see the data rate on the bottom left corner show traffic. If it does not show traffic then it will not connect.

Still being on 4.0b3 and I remember this specific problem since…ever!

running 6.47.8 now. Never seen this problem since I started with Dude about 3 years ago.
