dude database is locked - dude file path on smb share using ROSE

I thought of trying to setup a new dude server on a network share.
I installed the Rose package and configured to access an smb share in my NAS.
I then used the path smb-192-168-80-41-dude/dudedata and enabled dude.
It created many files in the smb share that dude needs but dude.db is 0 kb and I get an error “applying settings: enabling: open db: database is locked”
Is there anything that I could do to make it work"

If you disable/re-enable the dude in winbox, does that fix it?

You can try to do a “/dude/vacuum-db” to see if that fixes it or gets an error.

I have tried both.
Also deleting all the files and reenabling it to reproduce them. Still the db file is empty and same error is produced.
I also thought of trying the same thing using NFS but I still haven’t figured out how to properly mount my NFS share on my QNAP.

So in SMB it has access right since all other files are created with content but the db file is “locked”,
and in NFS I still haven’t figured out how to connect properly. My NFS share is working fine from other clients

I just tried something that worked with SMB.
I enabled the dude on a local folder and then I copied the dude.db file to the nas where it was supposed to be created and the I changed the path to the dude to the one of the smb and it started
