dude.db

4.0.3 (yes, I know…)

Is it more likely that a dude.db of 117 KB blew up yesterday than is one that has over a year’s worth of data for a few devices in it?

It seems awfully small to have that much data and yesterday afternoon my Dude install went completely blank as I was analyzing monitored device failures.

Supposingly like with everything you have regular backups so no harmful effects by loosing the database…

Yeah, right…

No one in IT actually backs anything up. It’s one of those things you’re supposed to do, but nobody ever does.

Everyone of us made such mistake. Good is that you are more experienced now and will not repeat it. I backup normally important data to three different harddisks in two different computers, more important data are on five different harddisks on four different computers in three different geographical locations.

I guarantee you I’ll repeat it.
