Dude & SNMP - RB133c problem?

I run almost 200 RB133c clients on my WDS network. We run 2 Vlans to each client, one for Internet and the other for Management. I have been running the DUDE Beta since we started the network 6 months ago.

At about 130 clients we started to see increased CPU messages and slower performance on the network. We also found that we were experiencing the loss of WLAN interfaces on the RC versions of version 3. We also experienced many users that traffic would freeze and they could not move packets. THe only way to get them working again was to have them reboot or reset the WLAN interface.

One evening I added about 30 units to the Dude and the very next day I was getting an unusual amount of complaints from my users. I put 2 to 2 together. It seems that the SNMP monitoring (Especially on the RB133c) causes a great deal of congestion. I turned off all snmp monitoring and immediately many client pings decreased and bandwidth levels increased dramatically. I also noticed that web browsing was significantly faster.

So, for the time being, I have left the snmp monitoring off but, I am setting up ping probing and notifications. I do miss many of the SNMP features, but I like the very few phone calls I get from clients now! I have been running this way for about a week now, and my network is running well.

Has anyone else seen this?
