Can someone describe the workings of “Dude Agents?” The text on the Agents tab says…
Dude agents are other dude servers that can perform probing on behalf of this dude server, allowing to reach parts of the network that are not accessible from this server, or to simply offload some work to places closer to polling targets.
In my situation I have a Dude server in the HQ, then another in a branch office. I’d like to take advantage of the branch office’s Dude relaying stats back to me in HQ.
I would also like to know the answer, I have the Dude installed on another device and when I connect to it remotely it appears to be functioning properly, however when I tell the main Dude server to connect to that agent, it just sits there with the status saying “connecting”
If someone could explain how to get the agents running (a wiki entry would be great!) it would be most appreciated!
I got it working. Changed a couple of things but I think the main thing is you need to create a seperate user for the agent instead of using the default admin?
