We’re a hotspot provider in NZ and I’m sorry to post about another product “Ubiquiti Pico HP 1000mW”. We are starting to use lots of Picos (something like 100 now) and I see them popping up everywhere with all kinds of Wifi Suppliers. The Nanos and Picos are great simple AP’s or CPE’s due to their simplicity and power. I thought you were coming up with something similar when the Groove came out (there were only bullets then).. But we find ourselves using more and more of them with a Mikrotik 751 or 450 running hotspot and vpn to our network with PPPoE passthrough on DSL or VDSL. Whilst we can monitor the Pico with SNMP and get some pretty good readings, I like to a monogamist and use one sort of equipment in our infrastructure where possible.
Anything like a dumb high powered AP on the drawing board?
Or a router with (x)DSL support natively?
Cause I’d probably buy 100 if they were any good and I’m sure a few other people would too. ![]()
