Hi all,
I’m wondering if RouterOS already has the functionality of https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6957 built in? I’m in the situation described by this RFC, and I’ll bet there’s a lot of other RouterOS users that are too.
It basically turns your router (which is first hop away from customer gear) to be an IPv6 Duplicate Address Detection proxy which is needed in network architectures where there is L2 isolation between all end devices and you’d like to enable IPv6 access. Critical in link-local duplicate address detection between hosts, without it routing will break for 2 hosts if they manage to pick the same link-local address (even though that’s probably extremely unlikely in a small network)
In general how many of you are WISPs looking at IPv6 deployment? Wouldn’t mind chatting ![]()
