Dynamic DNS Server list filling up with same two DNS address

G’day,

Wasn’t entirely sure how to log this as a bug, so here goes.

I have an RB750G running v6.17, which hadn’t been rebooted since I updated it 3 days ago. I did an upgrade because of extremely poor performance viewing YouTube videos (buffering at 240p).

Didn’t fix the problem, but in a flash of inspiration tonight I wondered if there was some kind of weird DNS setup (maybe a cache or something). Logged in, opened up the DNS Settings window, and I am struck with a list of Dynamic Servers so long that I couldn’t actually find the bottom of the window. Disabled Use Peer DNS on both my PPPoE connection and the IPv6 DHCP Client, these all disappear and YouTube begins working properly. This hints to me that this issue has been around for a while, but I can’t say I checked. Re-enabled Use Peer DNS on both areas, and the list has slowly begun populating again.

I didn’t note down the time when it began happening, but it would have only been around an hour - if that. So far I only have one copy, but if earlier is anything to go by, it never stops.

/ip dns print
                servers: 192.231.203.132,192.231.203.3,2001:44b8:1::1,
                         2001:44b8:2::2
        dynamic-servers: 192.231.203.132,192.231.203.3,2001:44b8:1::1,
                         2001:44b8:2::2,2001:44b8:1::1,2001:44b8:2::2
  allow-remote-requests: yes
    max-udp-packet-size: 512
   query-server-timeout: 2s
    query-total-timeout: 10s
             cache-size: 2048KiB
          cache-max-ttl: 1w
             cache-used: 510KiB

It’s difficult to see in that output, but the DNS servers “2001:44b8:1::1” and “2001:44b8:2::2” are in there twice. I realize they are also in servers, but I put them in there to test my fix when I disabled Peer DNS. This shouldn’t cause issues though, in fact I would imagine that it shouldn’t add a dynamic server if it is already in the list statically?

I have the same problem. Dynamic DNS serveres is filling up, and the customer cant connect to Internet. After reboot everything is ok for a few days..

Nobody else has this problem?

Still no reply ? :frowning:
