I have a MT OS running on a PC. How do I arrange the OS sending an e-mail (or sms) to my smtp server that is provided by a third party? (On the internet)
I tried their IP address (found it by tracert to their domain) but no luck. I took the exact example from the ROS (netwatch tool) and replaced the need to- and from-address and used the IP of the e-mail service provider. No luck.
OK, but how do I get an IP address of my e-mail provider. I can only trace their home webpage?
I see in your script a ¨reso¨ command. Is this ¨Resolve¨? How does that work? My ROS doesn’t know such command nor does Windows CMD??
Also, what should be my ´send´ address, my e-mail address I have with this e-mail provider??
What should then by the ´send-from´ address for the MT device? Can I give it any name? Or do I open a new e-mail address with this provider and use that one?
I do not own any domain so I can´t use one that is mine:
Hai frens,
first, just tell you mikrotik isn’t mail server. But you can send mail from your Mikrotik machine. than you must put smtp ip address to it, don’t put with dns name. or you have your own smtp-relay ip address
solution:
ask to your internet provider or
check from console like this. [e.g: you have smtp dns name smtp.your_isp.net]
/ping smtp.your_isp.net
or
/:put [:reso smtp.your_isp.net]
than press enter key button, you can see report ip address on your console.
reso same resolve command, but for console and you must use :reso
i like typing any script 4 caracters minimum…
