EAP245 + hAP ac^2

Hi guys,

I have working a hAP ac^2 very well but I’d like to improve the wireless connection. I have a couple of EAP245 but I’m not sure how to setup them.

I have connect both by ethernet to hAP ac^2 and setup with the same SSID and password, is this enough? Could I create a “mesh” network wiht these devices to get roaming?

I don’t know if I need to put the same channel on all devices, AP and Mikrotik, or if I have set more options on Mikrotik.

Besides SSID and password, you have to make sure that encryption is identical (WA+PA2/AES only).
Channels should never overlap. And make sure that tx power is optimized.

Thanks mate! When you say that the channels should never overlap.. Is to choose manually different channels for each AP?

I always choose channels manually. Don’t like auto…

Also check out their airtime fairness and band steering settings (non MT, so not discussed here).
