Hi All,
Since this device doesn’t have enough copper I decided to use a pair of 10G and formed a lagged / lacp as a trunk port for WAN interfaces for tagged vlan 2 to 21 (USG1 to USG15) the actual ONU is in the edge switch with their respective untagged vlan so this will work.
I have this setup on a similar system and it’s working fine with 5 MACVLAN interface with full utilization but this time I'm planning to set it up for at least 15 upstream gateway (pppoe and dhcp service handover with upstream provider)
But I have reservation because it was not clear if this is CPU bound when i max it out and it was not clear in MT docs, I know this is a niche use has anyone try like this before?
The way it was setup is like CRS3xx series switch where there’s a bridge and a port (lagg0) and each vlan 2 to 21 was assigned in the bridge itself and vlan filtering was enabled + l3 hardware offload is on as well.
The MACVLAN was attach to each vlan interface and both PPPoE client and DHCP is using the MACVLAN interface respectively, looking forward on your thoughts on this please thanks
Please don’t ask why not use CCR2116 it has plenty of rj45 ports, I'm just an engineer helping a friend ![]()
