EiOP in Bridge -TCP problem

Hello
Tested on RB941-2nD and RB1100dude, default setting. Two different WAN connection (VDSL and 200/200Mbit provider)
OS 6.46.7

Try simple test.

  1. Create EiOP interface , default settings, DISBLE it!
  2. Eth1 is WAN (DHCP or STATIC)
  3. Eth2 is LAN (in BRIDGE1 192.168.1.1)
  4. Test firefox → https://community.spiceworks.com/ from LAN PC 192.168.1.2 ..OK (PC->eth2->Mikrotik (masq)->eth1->wan)
  5. Add EiOP (still disabled interface) to BRIDGE1.. you cant be able to connect to https://community.spiceworks.com/ many TCP errors, not closed TCP (WIRESHARK)

You must change the EOIP interface MTU to 1500

Thanks it works, but strange is , than disabled interface can do somtething like this :frowning:

I agree with you*), however, this is a fellow user forum, so just complaining about things here won’t change anything. To get issues resolved, you have to file a ticket at Mikrotik’s ticketing system.

*) on the other hand, you’ve probably planned to use the EoIP for something anyway, and once enabled, it would have caused the same issue. So you need a very specific (and short-lived in real deployment) setup to get affected by the issue that the bridge takes into account also disabled interfaces when adjusting its MTU to the lowest one out of those available on all its member interfaces.
