Email Notification Question

Well guys, i need your help.

If I enable the Email Notification for all my Servers, everything’s fine as long as there is only 1 oder 2 failures in Server.
But if the internet disconnects the dude spams me with about 1000 Emails in 1 Minute.
Is there any way to abound that? Cause i dont wanna spam my phone with 1000 Emails when there is just on failure: internet down.

Any Ideas? Hope u understand what i want to say

You can set up dependencies between devices so that if the parent device is down the child device doesn’t get polled (And you dont get the alerts telling you it is down).

Dependencies only seem to apply between devices on the same map though (not between maps).

On the map toolbar change the Layer: property from “Links” to “Dependencies” and then set up the dependencies you need.

Ah well, thank you
Didn’t look that good, as i spammed firma with 800 Mails.

I hate to digup an old thread, however is it possible for the dude to support the ability to have multiple dependencies?
IE: for those who have virtual servers, the guest machines are dependant on the host being alive, but also dependent on the network being alive. (Device A feeds both vmhost and guest, guest cannot be alive if vmhost is down, neither can be alive if device A is down)
I know my links are set to pass the dependency tree from Device A through the vmhost to the guest however it is not clear if the guest will report as failed if the vmhost fails.

guest will report as failed if the vmhost fails.

it should and it will, so regular dependency setup would be enough. how would you be able to ping the VM guest if the host is down?
