Email Notifications problems

Hello everybody,
I got a problem when i receive email notifications from dude
first the mail i receive is like that : "Service [Probe.Name] on [Device.Name] is now [Service.Status] ([Service.ProblemDescription]) "
so i don’t know which server is down and why it’s down :frowning:
and second i keep receiving alerts even if the server is up i still receive alert like 100 a day.

does anyone here had the same problem?

thanks in advance.

go to notifications, open your email notification.
The advanced tab has a “repeat count”. Set it to zero.
On the general tab, in the subject area, make sure there are no quotes around it.
bad - "Service [Probe.Name] on [Device.Name] is now [Service.Status] ([Service.ProblemDescription]) "
good - Service [Probe.Name] on [Device.Name] is now [Service.Status] ([Service.ProblemDescription])

What version of Dude are you running?

Hi,

I am using Dude 3.3.

I get exactly the same email Notification problem: Service [Probe.Name] on [Device.Name] is now [Service.Status] ([Service.ProblemDescription])

Also, how do I set the email sender domain ?

Thanks.

Set the user@domain.com in the general tab of the main settings page.

Remove the quotes around your notification…

Thanks

Updated the sender domain. that’s all good.

However on the notifications I have no quotes around my email template.

Are you using version 3.3 successfully with the email notification ?

I have upgraded to 3.4 and get the same notifications that worked in 3.x beta…

Here is what I have…

For the mail server instead of configuring it here on the notification I have it configured from the global settings on the top left, on the general tab.
Then on the polling tab I have a check next to notification.

My emails say, service ping on mydevice is now down. Not the Service [Probe.Name] on [Device.Name] is now [Service.Status].

Win2k3 sp2…

BTW tested find, it seems fixed.
