EOIP problems

Hello All,

I have one EOIP problem with upgrading one existing network. It is necessary to keep existing configuration and just to add R1 and R2 computers in the same LAN with already tunneled networks.
There is already one working EOIP tunnel between Wirelles interfaces on Router 1&2 bridged with Ethernet interfaces on same routers.

I have to create EOIP tunnels with R1 and R2 computers. My idea is to create EOIP tunnel between wireless interface of Router3 (Router4) and Router1, and then create bridge where i will add appropriate EOIP and Ethernet interface as ports.

After this R1, R2 and existing EOIP tunnel should be the same LAN.

I dont have equipment for testing this configuration, so I only hope this will work on site.

If somene has similar experience I would be very grateful if share it with me…Will this work ?

Thanks

Your idea is mostly correct. Create EoIP tunnels between Router2 > Router3 and Router2 > Router4. On Router2, add the two new EoIP tunnels to the same bridge where you have your existing EoIP tunnel and Ethernet interface. On Router3 and Router4, bridge the EoIP tunnel with the Ethernet interface.

Yes, you need to change the IP ranges of the R1 and R2 PCs, since according to your diagram they are on different subnets. They need to be on the same subnet as your main gateway (ie. 192.168.3.XXX/24).

No reason why it shouldn’t. Although if you’re using EoIP over a wireless link, I would recommend using WDS instead, it’s faster.

Thanks
