I want to backhaul my traffic through a fiber provider that does not provide Q-n-Q trunking across their network so my VLANS will not be seen on the other side. Will EOIP get the intended result? I have a CCR at the NOC side of my network where the provider will hand back my traffic.
It will work, but EoIP is terribly, terribly slow on CCRs, at least for me. I can’t get more than 450 Mbit/s of traffic through any one EoIP tunnel. x86 rocks the world for that, you can push 3-4 Gigabit/s through a mid-range Xeon easily.
Thank you for the help! I currently have a 100 meg transport via wireless so if I can get 200meg through EOIP I’ll be happy for a while. I just wanted to have the VLANS to trunk through.
