Eoip's questions

Hi

I need some litle help with the eoip mikrotiks tunnels:

1.- If I enable bridging betwen the eoip and lan interfaces on both routers (office and house mikrotiks), and if the addres of my house and ofifice lan are in the same range (192.168.1.0/24) ¿could i see all computers each other in “network neighborhood” or “my network places”'?

2.- is necesary asign a ip to the both bridges?

3.- can i use any range of ip in the house and office lan independent of the pptp ip configuration?

thank you in advance

sorry my english…from Chile

Yes.
http://www.mikrotik.com/docs/ros/2.8/interface/eoip
you will find how to configure.

ok thanks work great, but i have anothers questions:
my eoip tunnel (eoip1) is already running with netbios included (i can see all the computers each other), but i need to link another office (eoip2) in the future:
in the servers side, if I bridge the eoip1, eoip2 and server lan, could work?
any suggestions

than you, again in advance

Yes, it should work fine but there is going to be a lot of broadcast traffic (assuming you’re running Windows) and this may cause bandwidth issues. Just something to keep in mind.

One of the first sets of rules I add to any forwarding fire table is a block of the Netbios ports 135-139. It’s a defense against customers who can’t keep their local networks from leaking that junk out into ours.

Of course the whole point in this instance is to allow that traffic. He wants the netbios to go across the eoip connections.

It it’s an isolated tunnel between two offices of the same client, I’d agree and I add special rules ahead of my general blocks just for that tunnel. If it’s for general wireless clients and the tunnel is just the backhaul to the core of the network, block’em and forget’em. That crap has no business on a diverse network, one business doesn’t need to know about the network shares that are probably unprotected of another residential user.

Ok, thanks for the device, but the bandwitch is not a problem for me, because I am testing with a wired network…rigth now i have another problems:

Internet------MKTK1(2)----switch—(3)MKTK3(4)----(5)MKTK2(6)

----- = net wired
(2)=192.168.10.100
(3)=192.168.10.1
(4)=192.168.20.1
(5)=192.168.20.5
(6)=192.168.4.1
MKTK1=Internet gateway

I have conected to the switch 3 PCs (192.168.10.0/24) and another MKTK (MKTK4) with 2 interfaces: ether1 with 192.168.10.200 and another interface bridge with eoip interface (bridge1) with bridge ip =192.168.4.2, this interface conect 2 pcs (ips 192.168.4.0/24), MKTK2 is pptp-client of MKTK4 and I create a eoip tunnel betwenn MKTK2 and MKTK4, (6) is a bridge betwenn eoip and a ether interface with ip 192.168.4.1, in this interface I conect 3 Pcs (192.168.4.0/24).

I can see all the PCS conected to the bridges (eoip netbios broadcast), but if i want to send file througth the eoip tunnel the velocity is very slow: 7 kbps..and the max velocity of internet in the PCs conected to the bridge interface in MKTK2 is 300 kbps (Internet Bandwitch: 2 Mbps), I probe many configurations for example i remove the switch and MKTK1 and all the 192.168.10.0/24 icomputers and in the MKTK4 i conected internet with another ethernet card, but nothing have better results, I have no queues in any MKTK…

any sugestions?

thank you in advance
