error : dhcp offering lease without success ?

hi all,

I noticed this error message in log appears recently, and accompanied by other error message : radius accounting request not sent : no response.

about my network :

1- i have RB2011 , 2 links dsl(4M+4m=8M) , 11 APs

2- i have two switches

the first switch connect to ether6 port , and there is 5 Vlans under ether6 , for 5 APs(1 2 3 4 5)
the second switch connect to ether7 port, and there is 5 Vlans under ether7 , for 6 APs( 6 7 8 9 10 11), there is one AP without vlan.(is that okay to make one without vlan or i have to put it in ether8 alone and create vlan for it ??)

3- i put ip&mac of APs in binding list bypassed type , and i made ip&mac of APs in ARP list as static .
4- in dhcp server , i enabled (add arp for leases)

5- i made just ether6 and ether 7 as reply-only , but not vlans. all vlans are arp enable .

6- hotspot is bridge

7- in bridge filters , there is one rule: add action=drop chain=forward mac-protocol=arp

8- some cable are about 80m - 100m long

is there anyone can help me please ?

is there anyone can help me ?

Hi
I noticed in one case that a statically assigned DHCP address had the following option enabled: “Always broadcast”
Once unticked, the error disappeared

I’ve seen this error appearing on my networks and after some investigation concluded it’s something on client side. One day this error appears on one client regardless of site. Next day this client is OK.It never appears if client is connected by wire, only if wirelessly.

Was it an Apple client?

No, different hardware, Windows laptops, Samsung smartphones with different Android versions.

Hmmm, thanks. I had seen that as well. Always the same device - a mesh type access point that was mesh connected only (no wired connection). All 4 addresses for that device were having this issue somewhat regularly. Checked the DHCP static settings and found several devices that had the “always broadcast” setting checked. Did not seem to affect the wired devices, but the suspect device did have the box checked on all 4 IPs. Unckecked them all so now we’ll see if the situation improves.

I have not any static DHCP entries.
