I also get the message “Error sending e-mail: invalid TO address” when trying to send e-mail from one of my routers. That is ROS v. 2.8.27.
On my other 16 routers (with other ROS versions) e-mail works fine.
I haven’t figured out whether it is a setup problem or the ROS version.
time to upgrade to 2.9.22 ?
On 2.9.24 we still get this error using Netwatch. “Error sending e-mail: invalid TO address” Here is the script for up we use that generates the error.
/tool e-mail send from=“<info@no.mydomain.net>” server=“12.0.0.9” body=“5.8 AP UP” subject=“5.8 AP 10.0.180.1 UP” to=“<8000647103@mypagerdomain.com>”
Any idea what is wrong? This started after updating from 2.8.x to 2.9.x.
THanks!
Matthew
did you try an email which doesn’t have only numbers in front of @? maybe it checks for something like that
I have similiar problem. Problem lies between Mikrotik and Your mail server at 12.0.0.9.
I think that Mikrotik uses very basic SMTP client. I.e.: there is no smtpauth option ( which is a must on most decent mailservers )
Try to send mail to another mail account on the same server and see what happens:)
Right now MikroTik RouterOs e-mail client doesn’t support SMTP authentication.

Are there plans to implement this in the future? We’ve never used the email in Mikrotik because of the lack of this feature ![]()
Bump…
Just stumbled across that in a customer situation again, too.
Any chance to get this added soon? Can’t be too hard…
