Mikrorik see LAN cards but doesn’ t accept incoming dhcp wan !
Please help
I would first check your ESXi and make sure your networking is still setup correctly.
I checked..and find bug in ESXI5, but solved it !
You can’t claim its a bug in ESXi, perhaps a configuration mistake probably ![]()
ESXi works good with about every OS I have tested.
Specially Microsoft/Mikrotik/Linux ,
I have deployed may scenarios with Mikrotik / Squid Proxy and Radius Manager in one Server with ESXi Virtualization technology and all of them works great with lots of pwer saving, easy management, easy backup and restore using VEEAM. once all machines are configured properly, create there backup with veeam or any other tool and you will sleep better in night, in case of any disaster, just restore the last working image of that particular guest.
aacable hows your experience with mikrotik compared to kvm vs vmware stability ?
I have used mikrotik in virtualized environment and found it good. My experience is that it perform good with multi core cpu’s.
Ive had some bad luck with mikrotik kvm hosts especially with 5.x as vm i can crash the host with certain tasks
tried proxmox recently 5.x i could crash proxmox host within mins…
traffic-gen does something really bad i dont know what though.
going to try 6 beta on proxmox
already tried 6.0 kvm as host, still tons of issues, such as vm’s, i created like 40 ros vms on 6.0 lots of the vms load then i reboot and some dont recover and stop working no matter what i try do to make it boot, have to just re install that image. etc
if all else fails ill have to go with vmware, I just thought that the virtio nic was best…
aacable i sent you an email ![]()
there is a set limit on how many KVM guests you can have if you are running them on RouterOS host. First (not how they look in the printout, but who gets CPU resources assigned. 8 will boot.
are you saying x86 ros is limited to 8
in what respect?
I have visually booted alot more
so im a little confused please explain more
maybe an example?
Do you have any feedback on my comments i made directly above?
oh, i messed it up with metarouter instances. sorry. KVM has limits, but they are much higher and you are going to run out of RAM and CPU power (most probably) before you reach it.
yep, hey umm janisk do you remember this ticket ?
