Hi Friend

i thing first when you start with new x86[PCRouterOS] you can find what is kind support interfaces with “Mikrotik-RouterOS” and check driver for that interface too…

the router was worked fine several months.
interface rtl 8139 is supported by any 2.9 (or even 2.:sunglasses: version of ROS.
i really do not understand what’s goin’ on… the problem still persists.

check arp must be ‘arp=enabled’ that interface for

thanks,

hi,

arp was ‘enabled’. and never been changed.
i just verify that.

thanks,

ok, if like that, maybe you can replace that interface, here we are sometime if we had problem with one interface, we can make interface on one interface [just temporary bridge], or you can see you firewall policy..

hi again,

i am newbie in ROS, it’s true - firewall may cause some problems like that. but this router have no any firewall rules. except nat rules.

and we have replaced the ethernet interface several times few weeks before. this was our first step in order to fix the problem, but it still exists.

note that the router have 3 ethernet cards (and 3 wireless) at all. the problem exists only in one fixed card. on the first PCI slot. the nearest to the AGP… so i wonder is that a heat problem, 'cause the video card is too hot by default.

thank you,
C. G.

It could be an IRQ issue too. You might want to try to disable devices you don’t need from the BIOS - extra COM ports, USB, etc. Some BIOS menus allow you to specify the IRQ for your video card.

great,…

you can choise good AGP product, or add cooler for CPU or put it in the air conditioner room.

peace all

okay, what have you done to verify cables?
How long are the cables? What standards are you following?
What standards where the cables designed for?

Could very easy be a cable issue yes… Could also be problematic NICs (not drivers, but the actual cards itself). And remember, you have two sides that can be causing the problem.

Replace both NICs, replace the cable, and see if anything changed…

Thank you, sten and savage,

Because the ether NIC was already replaced, the switch - too i decide to replace cables… everithing else done…

So, I replaced all the cables - they are 1 meter long.
It seems that problem disapeared, but who knows… I will wait several days more to decide that the problem is solved.
