Hello,
I set up a PC with 2 ethernet cards (same type). The physical links ok (leds on the cards), but MT says that on one of the two cards there is no link. I replaced the network card, the result is the same. The other network card works well.
Any idea?
Gabor

You are right… Compaq Deskpro EN BIOS error. No BIOS upgrade, so I need to search for an another PC.
I have the same Problem.
The NIC is a
3COM 3c905B-FX Fast Etherlink XL FX 100baseFx [Cyclone] (rev: 0)
it is an 10/100 Fiber NIC

maybe same solution works for you too ?
Mainboard PCI slot is O.K. I have this check.
I already exchanged the NIC.
The machine has 3 NICs (
1x Fiber
(3Com 3c905B-FX Fast Etherlink XL FX 100baseFx [Cyclone] (rev: 0)
2xTwistetPair (3Com 3c905C-TX/TX-M [Tornado] (rev: 120))
the other 2 works perfectly.
In the backup maschiene with other Mainboard is the same problem.
It functioned except the announcement is not o.k.
Try with manually change the IRQ of your Ethernet card from BIOS.
