I have Ether 0 failures on two RB532 boards. The Ether 0 ports were being used for POE also. The boards are being powered by POE and work with the serial port but not the Ethernet 0. Power recycling and reseting the RB532’s does not help. The link status appears as if the cable is unplugged. Any suggestions about the cause of this and how to prevent and fix this? I am using version 2.9.38 firmware on these RBs.
Try to update the O.S to 2.9.43 “latest one”
There is nothing in the mods after 2.9.38 that apply to the Ethernet ports.
Did the boards fail while in service? If so, the ether port has probably taken a static zap and it’s been fried.
did you also upgrade BIOS?
ethernet ports can easily break. static, overload, bad wiring, etc etc.
also, try setting it to 10mbit/halfduplex on both sides. does that help?
cables can break too (9 out 10 problems on a network is due to bad cabling).
difficult to diagnose, easy to overlook.
Try replacing the PoE adaptor. Just had 2 of those giving the same symptoms..

are you sure? if it is not in the changelog, it doesn’t mean it’s not there
Normally a changelog reflects all changes between versions.
This does not apply in the case of MikroTik.
They change lots of things without informing you.
Just get used to it.
no changelog lists all changes. they list majour changes. usually changelogs include a line like “other small bugfixes”, we don’t have that line.
